Our Sports Programme
The benefits of sports are well documented. They span physical and mental well-being, health, fitness, teamwork, belonging and resilience. Our programme allows us to create a detailed range of sports clubs, enabling every child to find that one activity that can be enjoyed recreationally and beyond.
RGS The Grange is confident that it provides an environment ready and able to engage children new to sport, enthuse and develop those children to grow in confidence and push those children who are already performing at the highest level for their age.

Encouraging lifelong enjoyment
We have created an outstanding environment to help your child develop a lifelong enjoyment of sport and its accompanying benefits. If your child is new to sport, we focus on engaging, enthusing, and building confidence. If your child is already performing at a high level, we challenge them to push themselves further.
Either way, our excellent coaching team will draw the best out of your child while developing important teacher-pupil relationships outside the classroom.
Reception to Year Two
Your child will follow a FUNdamentals Physical Education programme. This will allow your child to grasp the key skills to access a range of physical activities as he or she grows up.
Year Three to Year Six
Your child will follow a broad PE curriculum taught by specialist PE teachers and participate in two Games lessons a week. Your child will learn and play Rugby, Football and Cricket, Hockey, Netball, Cricket and Athletics
All children from Year Three to Year Six represent our School in each sport against other schools and in the termly House competitions. Your child will also be able to compete in sports such as Cross Country, Swimming, Athletics and Tennis and enjoy a range of sports clubs recreationally. If your child plays a sport externally to a high level, we will seek further opportunities.
sport is about engaging with children, getting them to enjoy it, wanting to do more, and being confident enough to want to compete!
