Step One: Come and Visit

If you are considering a place at RGS Springfield for your child, we recommend you begin by visiting the school.  We would be delighted to give you a personal tour of the school or meet you at one of our Open Days. 

You will be guided around the School by our wonderful teachers or pupils, who will show you the facilities at RGS Springfield, including our Classrooms, Grounds, and dedicated Sports and Forest School areas. You will be able to gain an insight into what life is like at RGS Springfield, and you will also be able to meet with our Senior Leadership Team, who can answer any questions you may have.

Step Two: Register

Complete the online registration form and submit it with the fee of £60 to register your interest.

Completing this form registers your interest in your child enrolling in the School but is not a commitment to join.  Once registered (via completion of the form), you will stay informed about essential details regarding the admissions process at our school. Stay up-to-date with information about taster days, important dates and school news.

Step Three: Taster day

We will invite your child to school for a taster day, where they will join their class, take part in lessons and enjoy making new friends.

Children coming into Reception and Year One will be informally assessed by their class teacher to gauge their working levels. Places will be offered following a successful taster day.

For children joining in Years Two to Six, an assessment will be arranged, which includes Mathematics, English and Verbal Reasoning. Subject to acceptable assessment results, we would then formally offer a place.

Step Four: References

We apply for a reference from your child’s school.

This helps us gain valuable insights into their academic progress, character, and suitability for our School community. We treat this information confidentially and use it to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment for all pupils. If you prefer us to not contact your current school until the application process is complete, then please just let us know. 

Step Five: Offer

Upon successful completion of our assessment process and satisfactory references, the Headmistress will review and, if suitable, will be pleased to extend a place to your child at RGS Springfield.

To secure this place, you will be asked to complete an acceptance form and submit a deposit of £120, along with a copy of your child’s birth certificate.  At this point, your child’s place at the School is confirmed.

Depending on the point of entry, you will be invited to transition and induction events, where your child will meet their teacher and new classmates and leave excited for their new School!
